Today in class we discussed the topic of open education resources. As a future elementary teacher, I find this very relevant and interesting. Prior to this class, I had little knowledge of the concept of copyright or what “CC” (creative commons license) even means. After being introduced to the basics of open education resources, I understand how important it is. I was also exposed to several websites that can be used for open education resources such as Unsplash for images, OER commons, Curriki, CK-12, and Wikimedia. I will probably be using these sites for future lesson planning as they are easy to access and free to use (as long as you give the correct attributions). I think that it is great that with technological advancements and how progressive the internet is I can access a variety of information and media quickly and efficiently in a way that I probably could not have years ago.
