To continue learning my second song I started by listening to more videos of recorder players playing Ode to Joy. This helped me prepare by getting used to what the song should sound like in terms of tempo. I was able to visually see proper finger placement. As I have previously mentioned, I have struggled to transition from note to note. Being able to see where my fingers should be helped me to transition hand placement.

After watching this video, I began slowly playing the song. I went through the song measure by measure, until I felt comfortable with the notes. Then I began speeding up each time I played the song until I matched the tempo that was played in the video.

I practiced this song several times over the past week until I felt that I was ready to record a video. I found that when I went to record I encountered similar problems to my previous music video. I was nervous and continuously had to re-try filming each time I messed up. Another issue I am trying to overcome while going through my musical journey is confidence. I am trying to be more sure of myself and my musical abilities. I know that I am capable of playing the song, I just need to work on being more comfortable sharing my learning through video.
